Words That Keep Us Going

The real impact of SITHELO lives in the lives of those we walk alongside.

"

SITHELO gave me more than a skill — they gave me confidence I never knew I had. I now run my own small sewing business and employ two other women from my street.

The school drive changed everything for my children. They walked into the new term with new stationery and a new sense of belonging. I'm forever grateful to this organisation.

As a young man who almost dropped out, SITHELO's youth programme redirected my path. I finished matric and I'm now studying engineering. They believed in me first.

About SITHELO NPO

For over 11 years, we have walked alongside women, youth and children in Durban — igniting hope, building resilience and transforming lives through purpose-driven community action.

Who We Are

SITHELO NPO is a community-driven non-profit organisation dedicated to creating lasting change by empowering women, youth, and vulnerable children. We believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, realise their potential, and contribute meaningfully to their community.

Our work focuses on addressing the challenges of poverty, inequality, unemployment, and social exclusion through practical, sustainable programmes. From skills development and educational support to mentorship, community outreach, and access to health and social services, we equip individuals with the knowledge, confidence, and opportunities they need to build brighter futures.

At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief: empowered people create empowered communities. By investing in education, leadership, and economic empowerment, we are helping to build resilient families, stronger communities, and a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Together with our partners, volunteers, and supporters, we are committed to creating hope, inspiring change, and making a meaningful impact—one life, one family, and one community at a time.

What Drives Us

  • Women deserve economic independence and social equality
  • Youth need direction, mentorship and real opportunity
  • Children require safety, nutrition and access to education
  • Communities grow stronger when they support one another
  • Skills are the most durable form of empowerment
  • Every voice in the community matters and deserves to be heard

Our Vision

A society in which every woman stands in her power, every young person has a clear and hopeful path forward, and every child grows up in safety, dignity and love.

Our Mission

To ignite and sustain hope in communities through women empowerment, youth development, children's welfare and skills training — creating a ripple of positive change that extends across generations.

"Sivusa Ithemba Lembokodo — reviving the hope of a strong woman. This is not just our name. It is our promise."
